Working in Iceland
Working in guesthouse
in the beautiful South East
I found a job in Iceland via Workaway in a small family guesthouse. When I look back, I think I'm pretty crazy. Before I got there, I basically had no idea where I was going; I had no address, no name of the guesthouse, nor the owner's contact information. All I had was the name of the nearest town (which, by the way, is 40 km awayl) and a whatsapp to some girl who was arranging the whole thing with me. I originally thought it was the owner or her daughter, but later on it turned out to be just some lady who used to work here and isn't even in Iceland now. Well, so as I rode that bus through the night into the unknown and had vague info that someone was coming to pick me up in a car, I just prayed in my mind that it wasn't any human traffickers. And that's, like, no joke. I did my bachelor thesis on it, so I know a thing or two about it - and honestly, as we approached, I was f*cked up.
